Between Friend and Foe Chapter 9
Anya stares at the teddy. Nothing was said for at least 3 minutes, and I was just stood there, holding this stuffed rabbit toy. Earl and Antonio are smiling at the scene. I feel a sudden weight gather around my waist, and look down to see little Anya gripping on to me, smiling brightly and crying.
"Thank you, Heather!"
I pat her head gently, trying not to be too awkward around the young girl.
"It's okay, I just found it."
Earl looks at me; I can tell he wants to say something, but not in front of the children. Anya lets go and goes off to play in a corner with her new teddy. Antonio follows her.
"Did you guys find anything down here?"

My words cause Earl and Antonio to sigh and pout. Anya just looks at me with those beautiful green orbs, eyes spelling out every one of her emotions. She wears her heart on her sleeve, it's a little dangerous.
"We don't have a choice then, who's willing to go Scout?"
Anya asks certainty and determination in her voice. Her sudden change in attitude surprises me. Suddenly, she sounds so much stronger and much wiser.
"I mean, I should probably go, I am the shortest and the swiftest."
Antonio's head snaps in her direction, anxiety shining in his duller green eyes.
"No, I'll go."

Fear frightens me, I don't wish to be afraid of anything. Fear will make me weak. I can't afford that. I am a poor beggar, who wishes to spend all of their money on alcohol, but I can't afford it. So I simply don't. The only real thing I have to fear is fear itself.
That doesn't stop me from being afraid. I know it's useless, but it's how human emotions work.
Anya grips onto my hand tight, she is frightened. She is young, she has every right to be afraid. She would have been 6 at the time that she was in the Truck. The Trucks' are what brought us to the Bunkers. She would have been fully aware of what was going on around her. I pity her.

We've been walking for hours now, the sun is just beginning to hide away from the horrors of this world. Do you know how exhausting it is having to hide two children away from every 'bad' thing when everything is terrible? Very, I can tell you that.
Even so, despite my exhaustion, I can't help but want to protect them from everything. I must be going soft, the old me would have never of thought that! But then again, I have noticed subtle (or rather not so) changes in my personality since the End began. It's quite troublesome really.

Dawn comes quicker than I expected, considering that I couldn't find myself in a suitable state to fall asleep. Every time that I would try to, my mind would continue to race with thoughts and possibilities that are so dark and miserable that I refuse to even bestow them upon you, in fear that it will make you cry and have nightmares. You're welcome.
In my head there is a sort of clock, that tells me the time. But the constant tick-tocking in my head frightens me, every second is a second that I am closer to the end. I just hope that I die before I am forced to watch the end of the end, and that will be the official end of the world.

I should just stop worrying, whatever happens, happens, and there is nothing I can do to stop it now. I should live the remains of my life with no regrets, if I die then at least I'll die out of this disgusting bunker. Besides, there isn't much I have to regret anyway.

Although, time doesn't matter. Even if it takes 2 years, 5 years or 10 years, eventually I am going to die. Just like everyone else. I think it just dawned on me how pathetic my life right now really is, I'm just waiting.

The coldness of that room was growing colder every second, the bitter feeling was almost as bad as the hole that was growing in her heart. No, this could not be true. Her baby boy could not have

Bilbo smiled at his nephew, Frodo. The young hobbit was reading intently by the fire. Bilbo walked over to him and said, "Come sit with me. It's time for tea." Frodo set down his book and wordlessly followed his uncle.
Together they sat at Bilbo dinning room table. The table still held enough chairs for eleven dwarves, a wizard, and one hobbit. Whom took on a dangerous adventure.
That journey turned a Baggins into a Took. It showed Bilbo a new way of seeing things. The adventure gave Bilbo a first love. It gave him a second chance at life.
"Uncle, what are you thinking about?" Frodo snapped Bilbo from his thoughts. "Oh, just my adventure,"

The little (brunette/blonde/etc.) dwarf girl, woke violently. Her orbs flashed open, and she met the eyes a familiar elf. A sudden throb began in her neck. “What’s happening?” (Name) asked sounding sleepy. “King Thranduil wants to speak with you today,” Tauriel said. “W-why?” she asked becoming frightened. “I don’t know. I don’t think he’ll harm you because you’re only child,” said the she-elf. Sighing she then said, “I’m not being much help am I?” (Name) never had a chance to respond. I whipped around at a familiar scream. Suddenly, my little girl was beneath a massive spider. I ran to her. I sank my sword into the blue tinted arachnid’s skull. It collapsed on to her tiny frame. A voice.
“She’s not going to wake up soon, is she?”
“I don’t know. I’m really hoping she does.”
A second voice.
“Gandalf was able to bring Thorin back from the dead, so why can’t he wake a girl?”
“We don’t know. She just won’t wake up.”
And a third.
“He’s tried everything he can.”
“We know, we know.”
“Much help he was,”
The voices drawled on. They began blurring together sounding like one loud voice. The waves of sleep would crash upon (Name) suddenly. She would slowly fade in, hearing voices of her new companions.
“Do we really have time for this?” Bilbo asked, he shifted nervously. “I think, it would be most beneficially, if she is to stay,” Gandalf said, taking a long puff of his pipe. “I agree,” Thorin said, “I have to train (Name). She could get hurt.” “Uncle!” Kili chirped, “We should teach her to shoot a bow,” “I think a knife is more than enough now,” Thorin dismissed.
Thorin handed the little girl a sheathed knife. She held it in her hand awkwardly. “Unsheathe the knife and hold the handle firmly in your palm,” Thorin said, beginning his in
(Name) ran in fear down the long hall. The smell of fire filled her nose. The sounds of metal clashing on metal surrounded her. The word ‘Run’ sounded as if it was bouncing off the walls behind her. In a woman’s’ voice. Droplets of salty tears streaked her soft skin. Suddenly (Name) smacked into a wall. A deep voice kept saying her name. It was like a haunting nightmare. The shadows and fire rose higher and higher. The voices became louder and louder. (Name) put her hands over her ears and squeezed her eyes tightly shut. A desperate scream escaped her lips.
She bottled upright. Her eyes wide with

In time (Thorin x Child! Reader) Prologue
The crunch of leaves woke one of the sleeping travelers. His eyes flashed open. Drawing his sword, he stood. Being sure not to wake the others, Thorin crept into the forest. Only because of his excellent training, did he make his way through woods without making a single sound.
He turned sharply at the sound of crunching underfoot. Thorin followed the sound to a dead hollow log. A soft whimpering came from the log. Curiously, Thorin peaked into the log. To his surprise a small girl, a dwarf girl, was shivering inside it. Guilt pulled at the black haired dwarf’s heart strings.
He rapped on the side of the log. H
